SUMMARY OF POSITION
Develop commodity sourcing strategy, main target to support China plant sourcing activity, localization projects and support for global.
Drive and facilitates supplier development projects to ensure a supply chain capable of providing increased flexibility and responsiveness, improved quality and reduction of overall cost. Leads/supports improvement processes with strategic suppliers for mutual and sustainable benefits by improving JLG and supplier processes. Works closely with Strategic Purchasing, matrix team and US category team, to develop order fulfillment and flexibility plans, and help implement commodity strategies ensuring a capable supply base.
Key Accountabilities
- Initiate and manage commodity strategy, both LCC,and localization projects to support global and regional business for corporate and BU.
- Communicate with global GPSC team to find LCC opportunities and follow up project successfully. account for certain specific product model.
- Work as regional team to support global GPSC goals and performance.
- Identify, source and develop qualified supplier for corresponding commodity, be responsible to develop and maintain solid and reliable relationship with his/her own suppliers to meet Oshkosh Asia “QSTP” standard.
- Drive actions to exceed supply quality and customer delivery objectives, support the plants in driving resolution to significant supplier issues.
- Establish and maintain supplier quality rating system.
- Lead and manage corresponding commodity projects through the sourcing process, coordinate with multifunctional project teams to reach sourcing target.
- Create, implement and communicate the regional commodity strategy to the organization, push strategy alignment with Global Commodity Managers.
- Monitor and manage commodity spend in Asia.
- Analyze the Regional potential market / supplier base (macro analysis).
- Keep regular report about commodity sourcing progress and activities to direct manager as required.
- Other tasks as assigned by direct manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, certifications, skills)
- Bachelor degree with major in engineering, mechanical, material or technical related field.
- Above 5 years of purchasing, supply chain and/or materials management experience in construction machinery, truck, engineering and/or automotive industries. Prefer is deep experience with hydraulic or powertrain or EE experience with good business development sense, Commodity knowledge.
- Capable in project management and problem solving independently.
- Strong negotiation, inter-personnel and presentation skills.
- Able to read blueprints, interpret drawing and specification requirements.
- Knowledge of quality management, quality tools, manufacturing, engineering, logistic are preferred.
- Good at cost analysis and report.
- Excellent communications skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Positive driver within responsibility and efficient in coordination in Matrix team and organization.
- Effective team player, Could deal with mixture of pressure and challenges.
- Knowledge and experience in MRP system are preferred.
