Location: Location: This role has the option of being remote in the states of CA, WA, NJ. The role requires 30% - 50% travel. We have offices in Playa Vista, CA and Bridgewater, NJ.

Role 
As part of the Avnos manufacturing taskforce, you will be an individual contributor working on tough, critical-path projects and commercialization of cleantech hardware. This role will report into the Senior VP of Manufacturing and Supply Chain and be focused on finding and developing an emerging supply chain. Primary duties include market scanning for new hardware vendors, initiating and managing the RFx process, rapid spot buy POs alongside negotiating contractual T&Cs for production volume orders.

This role owns hardware delivery timelines through the supply chain. The job is not done until the parts arrive. This role owns direct and indirect hardware, and you are as comfortable negotiating capex and factory leases as you are new hardware contracts.

You will:

• Collaborate with R&D, Product Engineering and Projects teams to identify and source Contract Manufacturers and parts suppliers.
• Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams (in-house and at contract manufacturers) to identify and source Capex and indirect materials.
• Own market scan documentation, RFI’s and RFQs for cross functional review and analysis; clarify quotations from suppliers and develop sound sourcing and business recommendations and trades balancing cost, quality, lead-time and technical considerations.
• Own negotiations of favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs and Engineering Services NDAs, NRE, MSAs and milestone payments.
• Manage supplier development, tooling timelines, alpha and beta builds and ramp into production including, part availability for prototype builds/start of production and develop solutions to delays or problems that arise.
• Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers and manufacturing sites and 15-25% to customer ops sites. Customer field ops and distributed manufacturing sites are global. Up to 50% travel.

You have:

• 5+ years minimum Purchasing, Supply Chain, or New Product Introduction (NPI) experience in emerging technology hardware (e,g, structures, HVAC, containerized battery systems).
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical and air flow components such as vacuum chambers, ducting, cooling piping and harness routings and comfortable negotiating on the factory floor.
• Deep understanding of design release stages (PLM) and experience in sourcing for early-stage spot buy and ramp to serial production with Contract Manufacturers in a global supply chain, understanding the differences in spot buy and production contracts can co-exist.

You have implemented stage appropriate Material Resource Planning (MRP) software into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

Salary: For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $128,000 - $170,250. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The range listed above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity and benefits. The final compensation package will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills and experience.
