At Klim, we are revolutionizing agriculture by empowering farmers to adopt regenerative practices and contribute to a sustainable future. A critical component of our mission is developing accurate and robust SOC/carbon models, which drive the creation of our advanced data products to support farmers in their transition to regenerative agriculture.
To further strengthen our modeling capabilities, we are seeking a Data Scientist with extensive expertise in SOC/carbon modeling to join our team.
As Data Scientist you will:
Analyse and enhance our internal sequestration and environmental models to ensure robustness, accuracy, and scalability.
Support in the decision-making process on how to meaningfully enhance our carbon model by means of using different soil science models (e.g. Bodium) and improving our existing models.
Proactively assess and identify opportunities for data science applications, data products, and automations.
Build robust, scalable data models to support ML systems and improve data accessibility.
Collaborate cross-functionally with agronomists, engineers, and product teams.
Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements in data science, environmental modeling, and related fields.
Your profile:
Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Data Science, Environmental Science, Agronomy, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in developing environmental models, with a focus on SOC/sequestration modelling or similar domains. Familiarity with RothC is a plus.
Deep knowledge of agronomy and agricultural topics.
Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience using ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch and scikit-learn in a production/product environment.
Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams, with proficiency in version controlling (e.g., Git).
Ability to translate business requirements into quantitative solutions and clearly communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with large-scale geospatial and sensor data and familiarity with remote sensing are a plus.
Full working proficiency in English. German is a plus.
