Wood Mackenzie’s Long Term Power product team is responsible for a suite of products that enables our customers to make the decisions that matter across the energy value chain. This includes Lens Power, our data analytics platform, that delivers insights at key decision points in end-to-end workflows.
Establishing a resilient, sustainable portfolio is critical for energy companies as they develop agile business models to meet net zero goals. We strive to be the partner of choice, offering a range of technical solutions to support the business needs of these companies. Our team delivers integrated analysis across the power sector, enabling customers to navigate energy industry dynamics, and make quicker, more effective decisions.
We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team and work across our suite of products for the power sector. If successful, you will play a key role in delivering value to our customers through our Lens EMEA product offering. You will be involved in all aspects of product development, from understanding and assessing the market opportunity to shipping product to deliver value. You will work closely with both customers and Wood Mackenzie experts to develop products that support critical strategic decisions.
This role requires a high level of creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with real life product experience.
Working with our Long Term Power product team, you will drive product transformation by monitoring and owning return on investment and communicating with a large and varied stakeholder group including senior management. You will be critical in balancing our broader strategic vision of powering the energy transition, with the on-going needs of our customers, to set a roadmap and continuously deliver value to our customers. Responsibilities will include:
Consistently communicating with customers (internal and external) to understand what they do and the challenges they face.
Identifying and analysing opportunities to improve our products by learning from, and working with, our customers and business stakeholders.
Collaborating across all parts Wood Mackenzie to gain fresh perspectives and ideas while also being an evangelist for the Long Term Power products.
Effectively manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, leading development teams to deliver products and features that fit with strategic goals and objectives.
Building, maintaining, and prioritising a product backlog by writing user stories that include clear acceptance and testing criteria.
Using relevant industry knowledge to inform your decision making.
Defining, measuring, and monitoring product success after releases.
We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be present in the office at least three days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.
Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
You will be a passionate about bringing great products to market and solving our customers biggest challenges. You will ideally have a background energy or financial sectors. Your experience includes:
At least three years of product management experience including owning roadmaps, user research and collaborating closely with engineers, designers and company leadership.
A track record in leveraging data and experience to drive product strategy and vision.
An ability to balance priorities by understanding technical and financial trade-offs, while clearly communicating these to stakeholders.
Experience of tackling big problems, which require complex problem solving.
An excellent understanding of the techniques and methods of product discovery and product delivery.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A keen interest in making a difference to the way we power the planet.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-based discipline, or equivalent practical experience is desirable.
Experience in the power sector is desirable.
